An evening space for young performers, creators, and storytellers. Welcome to The Secret Stage.
Designed for young people who want to explore theatre, performance, and storytelling at a deeper level, this program brings together an international community of curious, creative, and ambitious participants.
Working in Rytmisk Center’s black box theatre on Østerbro, students develop acting skills, explore character work, create original material, and collaborate on scenes and performances. Through improvisation, movement, text, and ensemble-based theatre, participants are encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and discover their own artistic voice.
A central part of the program is co-creation. Participants play an active role in shaping the themes, stories, characters, and artistic direction of the work we create together. Rather than working from a finished script, the ensemble develops original material and helps shape the performance from the ground up.
Classes are led by professional actors and theatre makers with experience from major stage productions, as well as backgrounds in education, pedagogy, and psychology.
Throughout the season, students will have opportunities to share their work and perform scenes, culminating in a larger production at Krudttønden Theatre in Østerbro in the summer of 2027. Participants will have significant influence on the themes, content, and creative direction of the final production.
