Women in Jazz – Celebrating Female Jazz Composers (intermediate)
TilmeldThis ensemble is led by one of the leading voices in improvised music in Denmark - pianist Margaux Oswald, and is dedicated to musicians who want to build their skills as improvisers and ensemble players.
In this course, we’ll celebrate the music and legacy of women who have shaped jazz through their compositions.
Together, we’ll dive into the work of powerful voices like Mary Lou Williams, Carla Bley, Geri Allen, listening closely, learning their music, and playing it as an ensemble.
This is a space to connect with the stories behind the songs, discover new inspirations, and give well-deserved attention to composers who’ve often been left out of the spotlight. All instruments and levels are welcome — what matters most is curiosity and a love for the music.
The class is held in English.

A lesson lasts 55 minutes, of which 10 minutes are a break.
The season ends with a concert in the second week of December.
