Ben Rodney

Ben Rodney started playing trumpet at the age of seven after hearing Louis Armstrong for the first time. He studied jazz at the Royal Academy of Music in London and later completed a Master’s degree in Performance at Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium (RMC) in Copenhagen.
An active part of the Copenhagen jazz scene, Ben runs the Nørrebro Jazz Extravaganza concert series and performs with several bands and collaborative projects. As a band leader he’s been involved in recent album releases with bands ‘New Borders’ & ‘Birth of Pop.’ He’s currently working on two album releases with 7-piece band 'Undercurrent'.
He has played with leading Danish and international jazz musicians including Kresten Osgood, Jeppe Zeeberg, Lotte Anker, Kasper Tranberg, Dave Douglas, Kenny Wheeler and Dave Holland, and he appeared at festivals and on tours across Europe.
Ben has over 15 years of teaching experience and holds a teaching diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in London. His teaching style is friendly, personal and focused on musical joy, creativity and confidence.
